Chapter 1
The White Room

I woke up in a white room. I could not remember how I got here. I could not even remember who I was. I looked around. The room was empty. All I could spot were 2 little switches on a wall and some white debris on the floor. The room had no windows, but also no ceiling. All I could see above me was a white, cloudy abyss. It might as well go on infinitely. I walked over to the switches. They were white, just like the walls and floor. I instinctively flicked the left one. Then, after a few seconds, I had the sudden impulse to press the right one, so I did exactly that. A door opened to my left. I walked through it. I looked around again. The walls were a spotless white, again, but the floor was different. It was white, too, but it seemed to have a lot of cracks. When I stepped onto it, I heard something break, then the floor gave way beneath me and I fell. I noticed that the space below me was a white, cloudy abyss, similar to the "ceiling" of the first room. While falling, my conciousness slipped away slowly, filling my mind with a blinding, white fog...

I felt uneasy when I stepped onto it. I heard something break, then the floor gave way beneath me and I fell. All I could spot were 2 little switches on a wall and white debris on the floor. As I put my hand down to stand up, I noticed that a thin layer of white dust covered the floor. Next to my hand, there was another hand-shaped hole in the dust. I knew that I did not leave it there. Were other People here before me? Did they create that mess? I decided to leave a message to whoever might come here after me. I went to a corner of the room and wrote something in the dust: "Wasn't me." Then, I looked around the room again. The room had no windows, but also no ceiling. All I could see above me was a white, cloudy abyss. It might as well go on infinitely. I walked over to the switches. I woke up in a white room. I could not remember how I got here. I could not even remember, who I was. I looked around. The room was empty. All I could spot were 2 little switches on a wall and a bunch of white debris on the floor. As I put my hand down to stand up, I noticed that a layer of white dust covered the floor. Next to my hand, there were two hand-shaped holes in the dust, one of them was already covered in a thin layer of dust again. I knew that I did not leave them there, as I just woke up and only put down my hand once. Were other People here before me? Did they create that mess? I stood up and walked around the room. I noticed something off about the dust: In one corner, there was something written in the dust. I removed the debris that was laying on top and read: "Wasn't me". A memory flashed before my eyes, and I saw myself writing something in the dust. Then, I realized. This mess. The debris, the dust. The hands in the dust. That message. I made it. I caused it. I was here before, who knows how often. Something caused me to lose my memories, then I was placed here. Into the white room. I needed a name. An Identity. But not any identity. I needed my Identity.
